This resource introduces children to the artwork of living, British artist Ruth Allen. Ruth Allen creates drawings of ordinary buildings using a technique called ‘continuous line’. This resource includes three presentations: An introduction to the artist Activity 1- learn and practice using the continuous line technique Activity 2- Create an artwork in the style of Ruth Allen I have successfully used this activity with years 4,5 and 6 but it could easily be used with other age groups too. This Autumn leaf art activity will get children to develop their colouring and cutting skills and teach them about ‘warm colours’. Children will first colour in printed leaves, then cut them out and finally glue them to a ring template to create a beautiful Autumn leaf wreath that can be hung on a door or wall.
